What happens when the fantastical Sherry Vine (pictured above) brings Jane Lane, Jonni Rendi, Kyle, Yuhua, Felicity Starr Dust and me along for the ride for her DC shows Friday night? Utter. Pandemonium. That's what the night at Cobalt was called. Clearly, they knew we were coming. I'm still piecing the night together. Good thing I took 600 pictures to help me.
Before Cobalt, we went to JR's for Sherry's first show. We stopped conversations as we made our way in and to the bar, of course, so we could get into the fantasy. Well, we were already on our way there while getting ready for the night. I wrapped more-than-appropriate "Caution" tape around Jane Lane (pictured below).
Jane suggested I paint a black stripe down my face and around my head. By the end of the night, I had Jane's white makeup all over it.
Jonni Rendi and Yuhua (pictured below) quickly got into the fantasy at JR's. They had to play catch up. Our Bolt bus down was late getting in. So they had to rush to get into face.
The bartenders at JR's were so sweet to us and kept us properly hydrated. Someone welcomed us to our nation's capitol with a round of Jägermeister. I'm going to blame the rest of the night on that.
From JR's, it was a quick walk to Cobalt, even in Rendi's 27-inch heels. At Cobalt, we had drink tickets for days. Kyle's holding some below. (I found one in my pocket the next day). But I'm not exactly sure what I did with mine since I don't think I ever used one to get a drink.
After a few more rounds, we all gathered onstage with Sherry to start off her family-friendly parody of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," "I Sh!t My Pants," which as of this posting has a phenomenal 2,159,962 hits on YouTube.
Then, we tore up the club. Until my next post, let me just say that I slept 10 hours or so last night recovering. Below is a little taste of the madness that ensued.
