One Mic Don't Stop No Show

P1060354
There was only one working mic last Wednesday at the final 2009 Blonde Leading the Blonde show at
Vlada; but it didn't hold Sherry Vine or Epiphany (pictured above left to right) back. Sure, it made the choreography for some of their staple duets like "Total Eclipse of the Heart" a bit tricky. (It's a bit of a challenge for one queen to sing--and enact--"turn around" and pass the mic to the other for her "every now and then" lines in between). It was also more difficult to pull off their trademark banter since it's hard to spontaneously respond to one another when you need your partner to pass you the mic first. No matter. Epiphany channeled Lucille Ball and gave us pantomime to Sherry's ... um ... "straight man," so to speak.

That doesn't mean that Epiphany didn't get in some good barbs. When Sherry asked if the hat Epiphany was wearing was her roommate Acid Betty's, Epiphany explained that she got the "good quality leather" for the hat from the part of Sherry's face that was tucked behind her wig. Such a kidder, that Epiphany.

It was their last holiday show; so, Epiphany sang, "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" Not to be left out, Sherry sang her new favorite Christmas carol, her parody of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," "I Sh!t My Pants." OK. Maybe it's not exactly a Christmas carol; but it's not just popular with Sherry or even the crowd at Vlada who roared the second they recognized it. On YouTube, the fantastical video has amassed 1,650,641 hits as of this posting! Someone has even subtitled it in Chinese (see below).

Sherry promised that she and Epiphany would have new material--and two mics--to wow us with in 2010. Can't wait until Wednesday!
