With a phone call and a few texts, the quiet Netflix night I thought about having ended with me crawling into bed some time after 4:00 a.m. My first stop was Therapy to say hi to Miss-ter T-Boy (pictured below) who was spinning the crowd into a frenzy with the Chew Fu remix of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance." ("Rah rah! Ah ah ah! Roma ra-ma-ma! Gaga! Oh la la!")
It was nice to see that the rain didn't keep many people home. I was happy, too, that T-Boy threw on Mousse T.'s "Horny" as I made my way to the dance floor. ("My heart is ringing and I'm singing this song for you.") From the looks of the boys around me, everyone was "horny, horny, horny tonight."
I can't wait for T-Boy to finish the album he's working on. He's given me a track, "Dance Mutha," which will make you want to do just that. Once he gets me the a cappella, I'll give it the PhDJ treatment. If you've never seen T-Boy perform, you're in for a fantastical treat. Here he is performing at last year's Glammy Awards:
This year, he's nominated again for the Best Alternative Artist award, and he'll be performing at the Awards show at Splash on Sunday December 6th. Don't miss it! Speaking of Splash, that's where I spent the rest of the night.
I drank until last call with Beto Sutter and friends at the back bar and danced among the shirtless boys to DJ Tracy Young. Before long, DJ Drew G. joined us for a few rounds. It was good to see that he survived the night before.
