On Sunday night (and Monday morning, or what some of you may call afternoon), Glammy Awards mogul Cherry Jubilee learned that eating a proper dinner before a night out on the town is like a marathon runner carbo-loading before the big race. For runners, that extra pasta maximizes energy storage and boosts athletic performance. For NYC nightlifers, dinner means that we'll probably remember the cab ride home--and whatever we grabbed to eat along the way.
I heeded Cherry's lesson Wednesday night (and well into Thursday) at The Blonde Leading the Blonde show with Sherry Vine and Epiphany (pictured up top) at Vlada. The cold, wet night couldn't damper the fantastically cheery crowd. They enlivened the pretty ladies along through their standards (Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart") and new numbers (Vanity 6's "Nasty Girl").
I had a front row seat, near Kyle, King Ralphy, Jane Lane (pictured below), Jonni Rendi, and Yuhua. I had already lost count of my cherry infused vodkas when Sherry was telling us that she'd been in face since 8:00 a.m. because she'd filmed her new parody video all day.
I know the day must have been taxing for Sherry. Before the show, I actually saw her nibble on the chips and guacamole that Epiphany gets some Wednesdays. I had to put down my cocktail and tweet about it. I should have had some chips instead. The cherries in my glasses were not enough.
